History
The idea behind Supras Paisley was conceived on April 24th 2007 by two passionate St Mirren fans who were also keen followers of the ultras scene in Europe and indeed who were both members of a group on the continent. They decided to start their own group at St Mirren and bought supplies in order to experiment with making flags. Three large flags were made up, a mascot was settled on and was painted onto one of those flags. Having proved to themselves that they could achieve their goals, they started to publicise the group. They spoke to people they knew, they wrote about themselves on websites and little by little began to build support for their ideas.
A series of public meetings were held at which presentations of their ideas and visions for the group were delivered. The existing flags they had made up were shown off and ultras in general and the possibilities for a group at St Mirren were discussed. It became apparent that there was sufficient support for the group to exist. A name was settled on at a further meeting and so Supras Paisley 07 were officially born on June 26th 2007. Surprised and delighted at the speed of the progress made by the group in such a short space of time, a committee was then elected and plans put under way to get the group ready for the start of what promises to be an exciting new season, both for our club and for our fledgling group…
